If you use County Road 48 in Faribault to get onto Southbound I-35 plan another route on Monday. MnDOT announced yesterday that the on-ramp will be closed beginning at 8am Monday, June 25 for maintenance work.

If you follow the detour, you'll take Highway 60 to I-35 Southbound. Local traffic will still be allowed to use the road to access businesses and residences during the one-day closure. Road crews are sealing the bridge deck cracks and joints on the ramp.

Weather permitting the ramp work should be done by the end of the day. MnDOT also is reminding motorists to be attentive and to drive carefully in work zones and to never enter a road blocked by barriers or cones.

South of Owatonna the bridge work will continue through the fall reducing I-35 traffic between Hope and Highway 14 to one lane in both directions with back-ups expected on the weekends.
