Unbeaten Gustavus had their hands full against a St. Olaf team battling for its first win on Saturday. The Gusties went home with the win, but the Oles made them work for it.

St. Olaf(0-6) put together a good fourth quarter comeback attempt, but fell short to Gustavus Adolphus College(6-0) 37-29 on a beautiful afternoon at Manitou Field in Northfield.

The Oles scored late in the third quarter to pull within 34-22 on a 10-yard J.J. Strnad run. After holding the Gusties to a field goal early in the 4th, St. Olaf drove 70 yards to score on a Nate Penz-to-Joel Reinhardt 11-yard pass to make the score 37-29. The Oles converted the on-side kick after that, but had their final drive end with an interception. (read full story from St Olaf website)
