Our son, Steve, is in graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh. This is a picture he sent me last week of his bathroom. The caption said, "I wish I had a house in Minnesota where the pipes don't freeze." They had to cut open the wall to get at the pipes to fix them!

While it has been cold here in Minnesota, it is nothing unusual. Steve said they have had nights of 10 below to 15 below zero in Pittsburgh and highs of 4 or 5 degrees above zero. Their "normal" winter Steve describes as a typical March in Minnesota. So it is much colder in Pittsburgh then they have ever seen before, or that they are prepared for. Fortunately, Steve rents an apartment in a large complex. All he had to do was call the manager and let someone else fix it!
