This is a sight I see every year in downtown Kansas City when I am at the National Association of Farm Broadcasters Convention. There is a park right across the street from the Westin Hotel with an ice skating rink and a giant evergreen Christmas Tree. The tree is being decorated every year when I am at the Convention. It is like a signal that the Christmas season is not far away!

It you have a very tall Christmas Tree to decorate with lights and ornaments this is the way to do it. Workers were in hydraulic lifts or "cherry pickers" as they are sometimes called up at the very top of the Christmas Tree. I was told this was a city park so I am sure it was city employees decorating the Christmas Tree. That means that they had the proper equipment to get the task done with safety a primary consideration!
