Chris Young is denying that he played any role in Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's divorce.

Country music's reigning power couple announced the end of their relationship on Monday (July 20) after four years of marriage, and inevitably, the online rumor mill began to swirl immediately. TMZ posted an article later on Tuesday (July 21), naming Young as one potential factor leading up to Shelton's decision to file.

"We're told Blake heard rumors Miranda had hooked up with country singer Chris Young and thought it was believable enough to make him suspicious of her," TMZ states, citing unnamed sources. Young and Lambert have long been friends, and have toured together. Adds the gossip site, "But our sources say Chris was NOT the catalyst for the divorce. It was another guy, who is not a country singer."

Young responded to the rumors via social media on Tuesday afternoon:

Shelton and Lambert confirmed their split in a joint statement on Monday, saying, "This is not the future we envisioned, and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

According to reports, the divorce has already been finalized according to the terms of a prenuptial agreement, with Shelton keeping the couple's homes in Oklahoma, while Lambert will keep their Nashville residence. Neither star has offered any public comment on any of the rumors surrounding their breakup.
