A blizzard watch is in effect for west-central, southwest and portions of south-central Minnesota on Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. The watch area is along and west of a line from Alexandria to Albert Lea. Winds of 40-50 mph, along with light snow and the extensive snowpack, could result in blowing and drifting snow with possible white-out conditions. Roads could become treacherous or even be closed in this area.

A winter weather advisory is out for areas east of this line, including parts of the listening area, as 30-40 mph winds and light snow could combine for low visibilities and slippery roads. The advisory is in effect from 3PM Sunday until noon Monday.

Total accumulations up to 2 inches are expected. We will update this as needed as more information comes in.
