Peter Buchholz, a sixth-grade U.S. history and language arts teacher at Chaska Middle School West, is going to compete against 15 others to win $100,000 in the Jeopardy teachers tournament. The show airs today (Thursday, May 5).

Even if he does not win the $100,000, he has already gotten $2,500 from Farmer's Insurance. Buchholz plans on using the money to get new tables and chairs for his classroom. All of the contestants received the grant.

According to the Star Tribune, Buchholz will be watching the episode with a group of sixth-grade teachers from his school. The school also will host a watch party for students.

Jeopardy is hosted by Alex Trebek. The show first went on the air in 1964. Trebek has been hosting since 1984. It airs at 3:30PM on KARE-TV, Channel 11.
