Even though I've seen this so many times over the years the tree lighting always hits me. In past years when loss was more recent tears would well up in my eyes. I admit in recent years I usually smile as I think of each of the lights on the tree being the soul of someone I know and realize they are in a better place. My time here, relatively speaking I hope, is nearly over.

I got my love of cats from my Mom I believe and currently I don't have any pets but if I did it would probably be a cat. I enjoy dogs also but they take more of your time to care for them. My schedule really doesn't allow for that.

Gordy Hinck, 75, of Lake City, passed away at his home Friday. Gordy shared my mom's birthday of January 13th and told me many stories about his early years playing sports at Lake City High School. He graduated in 1960. He was the captain of the basketball team his senior year...
