The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals were seeded third in the West Subsection of the Section One Class A boys basketball tournament.  The Cardinals will host Grand Meadow Thursday night at 7pm.  Bethlehem Academy was tied for first place in the Gopher Conference when February began and fell out of contention within just a couple weeks.  Coach Franz Boelter told Faribault Coaches Show listeners on Saturday from Bashers Sports Grill when everybody came back healthy his team suddenly faltered.  They hope to remedy the problem and make a deep run in the playoffs.

If playing their best they are certainly capable of winning the subsection, but top seeded Goodhue is playing very well right now under first year Head Coach Matt Halverson.  Goodhue hosts the winner of the Lyle/Pacelli versus Leroy-Ostrander game.  Those teams collide Tuesday with the winner going to Goodhue.  The two seed is Blooming Prairie and they entertain Glenville-Emmons Thursday while 4 seed Southland hosts 5 seed Randolph.  The semi-finals are Monday, Feb. 24 and the Subsection Championship is March 1 at the Rochester Mayo Civic Auditorium.
