The Bethlehem Academy boys basketball team played their fifth game in six days last night in Medford. They came in after tough losses to Blooming Prairie on Monday and a double overtime loss to Pine Island on Saturday. The team played without Avery Hunt, who was out with an illness.

It took a while for the Cardinals to get going. The Medford Tigers, with only 11 players on the bench, took an early first-half lead with a fast Wyatt Volkman bringing down 10 points. The Cardinals got their shooting going and lead at halftime 44-27.

In the second half, the Tigers came out fired up and had actually outscored B.A. for a while in the second half, and there was a lot of fast-paced up and down scoring. But in the end the Cardinals got the win 77-63.

Medford was lead by Bryce McCarty with 16, Alex Gengler, Wyatt Volkman and Cole Volkman each had 14. Jon O'Daffer had 4 and Alex Goetz with 1. For the Cardinals, 20 each for Jack Clark and Ben Jandro, who were our State Farm Insurance Agents of Faribault players of the game, and Brendan Trump had 15, Damon Trump had 8 and Hunter Dienst and Alex Bongers each had 7.

Medford (2-19 and 0-11 in the conference) plays Pine Island at home Thursday, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on Friday and finishes with Kenyon-Wanamingo on Tuesday. B.A. (8-16, 3-11) has home games with Stewartville on Thursday and Maple River on Friday.
