The Faribault Academies Softball team game with Triton scheduled for today was re-scheduled for April 15.  Head Coach Tom Langfeldt is excited about the upcoming season after season a lot of improvement last year and having many players back from that squad.  Caity Angell is now a veteran pitcher and Coach Langfeldt told KDHL on the Faribault Coaches show at Bashers last Saturday Angell is very adept at hitting her spots.  Coach Langfeldt said the four seniors will provide some great leadership.  Junior Payton Schultz suffered a season ending knee injury during volleyball and will be back to anchor the infield at shortstop, senior Ramontica Langfeldt is back at second base and hit the cover off the ball last season.  The Cardinal Coach is entering his third season at the helm and noted how blessed he felt to have Terry and Beth Schultz and Paul Allen to assist him this season.  Coach Langfeldt said there are open competitions for catcher and third base in particular.  The Cardinals are now scheduled to open their season at home against Glenville-Emmons this Friday at 4:30pm at North Alexander Faribault Park.  Below is a picture of the field on Monday from the parking lot behind the field.
