Faribault is really lucky to have such a nice museum to visit that features a vast assortment of items, buildings and pieces of history from this area with a knowledgeable and dedicated staff that cares about preserving the past and enjoys sharing that knowledge with visitors. I'm talking about the Rice County Historical Society Museum in Faribault. Perched at the main entrance of the Rice County Fairgrounds, this facility, which used to be the old Rice County Highway Department, houses an array of artifacts from Rice County's past and visiting it is like a trip back in time.

The Rice County Historical Society Museum plays host to several school field trips each year, and they're looking for volunteers to help lead those tours. If you have a love of history, especially local history, and enjoy working with kids of all ages they're looking for you. All volunteers will receive training to help lead tours through the museum and historical buildings on the grounds and they're also looking for volunteers to help with tours at the Alexander Faribault House in downtown Faribault.

If you're interested in becoming a tour guide or taking a tour of the museum, make sure to call them at (507) 332-2121 today.
