The Rice County Soil and Water Conservation District will be holding a public meeting to provide updates and information about Minnesota's Buffer Law on Wednesday, September 14, at 7PM. Here is an opportunity to learn more about the law, what it means, the DNR mapping process, and the role the local Soil and Water Conservation District has in implementing the law. There will be plenty of time provided for questions. There has been a change in the location of the meeting from earlier news releases.

The meeting's location has been changed to the City of Faribault Public Works Building, 1200 Belview Trail, Faribault. I am sure you have noticed the new Faribault Public Works building on the west side of Interstate 35 as you have driven by Faribault. There is not an exit off of Interstate 35 by the Public Works building. So, take one of the Faribault exits on Minnesota Highway 21 and drive to the center of Faribault. Head west on Seventh Street by the Burger King. Then turn right after the Interstate 35 underpass. Everyone is welcome, and there is no charge for the buffer law meeting.
