Bohner Records Shut Out Against Mankato West
The Faribault Falcons girls hockey team traveled to Mankato Thursday and came home with a 3-0 victory. The boys defeated Mankato West at the Faribault Ice Arena 4-3. In the girls win Olivia Williamson had two goals and an assist and junior goalie Mikayla Bohner recorded her fourth shutout of the season while executing 21 saves.
Bohner told KDHL last Saturday during the Faribault Coaches Show at KFC in Faribault ideally she likes to see about 20 shots in a game. She also said she felt ready for the Rochester Lourdes Eagles last week when they were supposed to play. Since then the game was moved again to Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Faribault. They were the only area team in the girls rankings in Class A.
In the Mankato West victory Thursday the Falcons were 0 for 2 on the power play and the Scarlets 0 for 3.
Williamson scored 12:33 of the first period unassisted. The junior tallied her second goal 1:37 into the second period assisted by Haley Lang. At the 14:25 mark of the second period senior Kayli Burkhartzmeyer got another insurance goal assisted by Williamson.
