It was a great time at the Bowl for Kids' Sake for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota on Friday. Let's face it, when you are having fun, sharing laughs, having some good food, you have the highest score on your team and you are doing it for a good cause, what can be better? Did I mention my score was the highest for our team? And getting a hug from a Vikings cheerleader is pretty cool, too.

My other thing I wanted to mention is that Michelle Redman, executive director of BBBS of Southern Minnesota, and Meagan from the staff told us about an event coming up, called their "Man Up Minnesota” initiative. It's in an effort to get more male mentors for young boys involved the Big Brothers program, and the organization is hosting an event called the "Tap Takeover" at F-Town Brewery in Faribault on April 27.

Michelle said that sometimes that wait for a male to be matched up with their little brother can be more than a year. So they want males to man up and be a mentor.
