Beyond the Yellow Ribbon in Faribault

There is an active organization in Rice County to support our troops, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. Beyond the Yellow Ribbon asked for volunteers to prepare a meal for military personnel this evening at the Armory in Faribault. Employees of the Jennie-O-Turkey Store in Faribault and their families prepared turkey, real mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, dressing and pie for dessert.

There were about 8 of us that prepared the meal, and then about another 8 that came to serve the meal and clean up. About a year ago the same group prepared a meal at the Faribault Armory. I believe troops were preparing to be deployed. This year there was some type of classroom training that was being held. It was nice because the troops were able to invite their family members to come and have dinner with them. It was fun to work together and show our support for the troops!
