Bethlehem Academy Softball Wins Tournament

The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinal softball team traveled to Preston on Saturday and won the Fillmore Central Tournament.

The Cardinals rolled over Lake City 19-3 before defeating Goodhue in the championship game 4-2.

Goodhue downed host Fillmore Central 6-2 and Fillmore Central defeated Lake City 5-4 in other games. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown and two other teams were 2-1 in the Nicollet Tournament. The Bucs defeated Spectrum 3-1 and United South Central 5-2 before falling to Nicollet 7-5.

Trista Hering fanned 11 and walked two in Spectrum win while the Bucs had nine hits. Hering walked five and struck out four in win over United South Central and the team had seven hits. Hering walked six and struck out two against Nicollet while Waterville-Elysian-Morristown had six hits.

The Buccaneers are 6-4 overall and host United South Central on Tuesday.
