The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals were clearly a very focused football team when they traveled to Wabasha-Kellogg for their season opener Saturday.

BA led 29-0 at the half and saw running time in the fourth quarter in a 36-6 victory.

Peyton Glenzinski tallied 163 yards on 25 carries and quarterback Kollin Hanson was seven of 13 for 145 yards to lead the offensive attack for the Cards.

BA finished the game with 213 yards on the ground and dominated right after the opening kick, leading 22-0 after the first quarter.

The Falcons didn't score until some BA substitutes were in the game with 1:40 to go in the contest.

Cardinal head coach Scott Hanson told KDHL, "We executed our offense very well, defensively we played very intense and even our special teams did some good things. We had a few penalties and made a few mistakes like missed blocks we'll see on film and correct. But particularly this group of seniors has worked hard in the weight room and in the off season and that definitely showed in this season opener."

Hanson added, "You want to make the big jump from week one to week two." Friday the Cardinals will host Blooming Prairie. The Awesome Blossoms opened with a 8-6 win over Rushford-Peterson.
