The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals will continue defense of their Class A state championship Saturday in Rochester.

The No. 1-ranked team in the state all year in Class A has a gigantic target on their back, and they know it.

They still were able to dispatch Southland in three sets in quarterfinal round West Subsection action Thursday in Van Orsow Auditorium, and will play Lyle/Pacelli on Saturday afternoon on Power 96 Radio 95.9 FM.

Coverage begins at 12:45PM.

Lyle/Pacelli edged Goodhue in a five-set thriller in Goodhue to end the Wildcats' season. On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 seed Hayfield will play No. 3 seed Medford at 2:30PM in Rochester on Saturday.

The matches are at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena.

In the East Subsection, No. 6 seed Fillmore Central knocked off No. 3 seed Wabasha-Kellogg in five sets after being down 2-1. Wabasha-Kellogg won the first and third sets 25-8 and 25-17 and lost the second and fourth 25-23, 25-21 before Fillmore Central scored a 15-10 fifth-set win.
