The Subsection 1A West boys basketball tournament got underway on Tuesday night with three games.

No. 6 Blooming Prairie defeated No. 11 Christian Life Academy 75-36. No. 7 Bethlehem Academy defeated No. 10 Leroy-Ostrander 78-55 and No. 8 MSAD defeated Glenville-Emmons 64-45.

In the Bethlehem Academy game (both teams are the Cardinals) it was a tight first half and Leroy-Ostrander lead 26-25. But B.A. came out strong and fired up in the second half They scored 53 points and held Leroy-Ostrander to 29 and won 78-55.

Jack Clark had 28 points, Alex Bongers 14, Avery Hunt and Ben Jandro each had 9, Brendan Trump 8, Damon Trump 7, and Hunter Dienst had 3. Clark and Bongers were the State Farm Insurance Agents of Faribault players of the game.

Sam Royston lead scoring for Leroy-Ostrander with 19.

The quarterfinals will be on Thursday, February 18. All games will start at 7PM. No. 1 Goodhue faces No. 8 MSAD at Goodhue, No. 4 Lyle/Pacelli vs. No. 5 Randolph at Pacelli High, No. 2 Grand Meadow hosts No. 7 Bethlehem Academy and No. 3 Southland hosts No. 6 Blooming Prairie.

Semifinals will be February 22 at Mayo Auditorium in Rochester with the subsection championship on February 27.
