Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol responded to two fatal motorcycle crashes in the Twin Cities late last night and early today and both crashes occurred at interchanges connected to Highway 100.

The first was reported around 11:30 pm when the driver of a motorcycle crashed into a concrete barrier while attempting to change lanes while rounding the curve on the entrance ramp to eastbound I-694 from northbound Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. There were two people from Ham Lake on the motorcycle. The driver, 55-year-old Robert Schmidt, was killed while his passenger, 33-year-old Toni Schmidt, was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. .

About an hour and a half later, the State Patrol responded to another deadly crash at the junction of Highway 100 and I-494 in Bloomington. The crash report indicates 48-year-old Cory Jones of Robbinsdale man was entering northbound Highway 100 from westbound I-494 when he crashed his motorcycle shortly after 2 am.
