Owatonna is becoming quite popular for movie makers lately. I suppose it doesn't hurt that Winterstate Entertainment has roots right here. They are the company that brought "Zombies" and "Brother's Keeper" scenes to town. You could see them filming out and about, most recently just a couple of months ago.

There is another movie that is being filmed, partially in Owatonna, I say partially because I am not sure how much of it will be filmed here. The name of the movie is "Summertime Dropouts" and they are going to continue filming here, through the beginning of September. In fact, they are in need of extras for one of the weekends.

It's pretty exciting to know that films are being made right here, in Southeast MN, and that people will soon learn the proper way to pronounce our area cities, like Owatonna and Faribault. For more information about the new movie, you can click here, their website is still being developed.  IMDB has the cast posted, and it includes Quinton Aaron, he played Michael Oher in "The Blind Side," so it is possible he may be roaming around the area as well.  It's always fun to see local people use their talents and make a name for themselves.
