In case you have not noticed, this is an election year. Well, I guess if you listen to the radio, watch television or read a paper you would have heard or seen all the political ads! There are some local elections that do not get as much attention as the state or national elections. One of those is for the local county Soil and Water Conservation District elections.

On Tuesday I will be hosting KDHL's AM Minnesota program and my guests will be the candidates running for the Rice County Soil and Water Conservation District. They include Richard Cook, Tim Little, Mike Ludwig and Beth Kalestad. Each conservation district is in charge of setting priorities that they see as important. A new task that came from the Minnesota Buffer Law is determining what conservation practices are acceptable for buffer strips.
