Rice County Fair manager John Dvorak will be stopping by KDHL studios for today's AM Minnesota Program. We will be having Fair Talk 2018 each Tuesday unit the Rice County Fair the middle of July. John tries to bring a guest or two along for the Fair Talk Program. Typically they are volunteers that are helping with a certain part of the fair. This week it will be Teresa Demars from the Rice County SWCD and Claire LaCanne from the Rice and Steele County Extension Office. Teresa and Claire will be taking charge of the Conservation building putting in a number of new displays.

The Rice County Fair received a grant from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to build a 1900's era barn. The grant specified that it had to be used to educate consumers about agriculture. When John first mentioned it he said it would be built by this years fair. I was not so sure that it would get built that quickly. However, you can see from the picture the barn already has a roof on it!
