My guest on today's AM Minnesota program will be Robert Moffitt (seated at my left) with the American Lung Association of Minnesota. The American Lung Association of Minnesota has been a great partner of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and Minnesota Soybean Growers Association. Of course the American Lung Association of Minnesota is all about cleaner air. The Minnesota Corn and Soybean Growers Grower's Associations are interested in developing and promoting ethanol and biodiesel which burns much cleaner in internal combustion engines.

So, for many years it has been a great partnership. One of the things I want to ask Robert about is increasing the standard blend of ethanol in gasoline. Virtually all gasoline sold in the United States is blended with 10 percent ethanol. While at the MN Ag Expo I heard about a long range plant to get all gasoline sold in the United States blended with 15 percent ethanol. Apparently the major car manufacturers need higher octane fuel to meet CAFA standards. Higher blends of ethanol can provide the octane they need.
