My guest on today's AM Minnesota program will be Bruce Abbe Executive director of the Midwest Shippers Association. The Midwest Shippers Association is a regional trade association that promotes marketing, shipping and delivery of specialty grains worldwide. I did not even know there was a Midwest Shippers Association until the MN Ag Expo last January in Mankato. Bruce was in their booth right next to the booth I was at.

The Midwest Shippers Association was established through a grant from the Minnesota Legislature. The Midwest Shippers Association serves the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and beyond. A number of state soybean associations help fund the Midwest Shippers Association including the Minnesota Soybean Growers.

The Upper Midwest region produces some of the highest quality, premium specialty grains available anywhere in the world. I believe the mission of the Midwest Shippers Association is to help market specialty grains and facilitate the container shipping of the grains. We will find out more at 9:30 this morning!
