AgStar Financial Services announced they are accepting high school senior scholarship applications through the AgStar Fund for Rural America. The AgStar Fund for Rural America is the cooperate giving arm of AgStar Financial Services. Forty-two $1,000 scholarships are available. The program is for high school seniors who are in an ag-related degree or those with a rural or ag background. The scholarships are for students attending a two- or four-year college or university.

Students must have a 3.0 GPA and live in AgStar's local service area to apply. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement, leadership and ag-related community involvement. The application forms are available at AgStar.com. Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2016. When our children were in college I could never understand how tuition could be so expensive. A $1,000 scholarship might not seem like very much, but if you can receive a number of different scholarships, they can make a difference.
