I had fun this afternoon talking to third-grade students at the Cannon River STEM School in Faribault. The Faribault Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee sponsors the Adopt a Third Grade Program.

Normally, Kevin Estrem, a farmer from Nerstrand, goes into the classroom to talk with the students. Estrem has had so many schools asking him to come that I have been covering some of them for him.

Later on this spring we will bus the students out to a livestock farm. Needless to say, most of these students have never been on a farm.

This is a photo of Stacy Sandler and Ryan Johnson's classes at the STEM School. Each of the students received a bag made from corn with pencils, educational coloring books and crayons made from soybeans.
