Aaron Lewis isn't happy about the state of country music, and he's letting everyone know. At a recent concert in Colorado, the singer called out several country artists like Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, Dan + Shay and Cole Swindell for "choking all the life out of country music."

"Sometimes the things I say get me in trouble, and I don't really give a f--k," Lewis said onstage at the Thunder Mountain Amphitheatre in Loveland, Colo. on Sept. 4. "That being said, I want to thank a few people for inspiring me to write this next song."

Before performing his song "That Ain't Country" off his forthcoming album Sinner, Lewis dissed a handful of today's country artists while at the Thunder in the Rockies Bike Rally.

"I'd like to thank Sam Hunt — oh, I know, he's so pretty to look at," Lewis continued. "I'd like to thank Luke Bryan, for most of his stuff — he surprises me every once in a while. I would like to thank Dan + Shay. I'd like to thank Cole Swindell. And every other motherf--er that is just choking all the life out of country music."

"That Ain't Country" has the former Staind frontman singing of the changes to the genre and asking what happened to the songs "full of truth and consequences."

Lewis' Sinner album is out Sept. 16. In a press release announcing the album, the singer said the album is a "newer take on classic, traditional Outlaw country."

"I’d like to think that Sinner is a newer take on classic, traditional Outlaw Country, Waylon and Merle and Willie, and Hank Jr. and Johnny Cash and all that stuff,” he explains. “That was the music I heard a kid, and that’s the Country music that permeated my soul and stuck with me my whole life."
