The first in season Minnesota high school football rankings by the Associated Press have been released. These teams were voted upon by a statewide panel of prep sportswriters.

Tri-City United is second in Class 3A, Lakeville North second in Class 6A and Mankato West second in Class 5A.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is rated No. 3 in Class 2A where defending state champion Caledonia is No. 1 and received all five first-place votes.

Goodhue is No. 4 in Class 1A with Rushford-Peterson at No. 8 and Fillmore Central tied for No. 10. Bethlehem Academy received votes along with Hayfield and United South Central.

Pierz received all six first-place votes in Class 3A. Rochester Lourdes and Plainview-Elgin-Millville received votes but did not crack the top 10.

South St. Paul is No. 1 in Class 4A with six of the 10 first-place votes. Stewartville is No. 3 and Mankato East, Waseca and Winona received votes.

St.Michael-Albertville sits atop the Class 5A poll after receiving eight of 10 first-place votes and Mankato West got the other two.

Totino-Grace is No. 1 in Class 6A after receiving six of eight first-place votes. Lakeville North garnered the other two first-place votes.

Defending state champion Grand Meadow got all five first-place votes in nine-man football and Cleveland is rated No. 2.

The top 10 in each class is listed below and only area teams who received votes in their respective classes.
