64,000 Blue Jackets

More than 64,000 FFA members in blue jackets have invaded Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention. At the convention the FFA announced that its membership is now 653,359 members in 8,568 FFA chapters in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition there are more than 344,000 FFA Alumni members and 2,051 FFA Alumni chapters. The FFA Alumni are there to do what ever they can to assist the FFA locally, state or nation wide. The theme of the convention is I Can. We Will.

The Bankers Life Fieldhouse and Indiana Convention Center is where most of the activities are held. They are a few blocks apart on Georgia street in downtown Indianapolis. For the FFA convention Georgia street was closed to traffic and renamed FFA Way. In the picture is the National FFA Band leading the parade down FFA Way. In the back is  a flag of every state in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U. S. Virgin Islands.
