Today is the 45th annual Crop Production Field Day at the Keith and Jay Kuiter Farm. It is being sponsored by the University of Minnesota Extension Service and Riverland Community College. Registration is at 9:30AM and the program starts at 10AM. The Kuiter farm is a quarter-mile south of Clarks Grove on County Highway 45. Just take the Clarks Grove exit off of Interstate 35 and then in Clarks Grove head south on Highway 45. It sure appears they have some timely topics lined up.

Extension educator Brad Carlson will discuss nitrogen fertilizer, Extension educator Lisa Behnken will discuss waterhemp and resistant weeds, Extension educator Dave Nicolai will talk about new herbicide products (enlist and extend technologies), and Extension educator Ryan Miller will cover the challenges of this growing season. Finally, Extension educator David Bau will go over the outlook on land rents and land values along with corn and soybean production costs. The Crop Production Field day wraps up with lunch. The event is free and you do not have to preregister.
