This weekend the realization that fall is here and winter is really on the way , sets in as daylight savings time ends and we return to standard time Sunday at 2am.  Which means starting on Sunday the sun will set about 5pm, will still loose some minutes each day until around Dec. 21.  Sounds great doesn't it !

There are some positive things to do this weekend as well as turn the clocks back. This weekend is a good time to make sure put new batteries in all your clocksthat have them. Also it's a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. And if your detector is over 10 years old, it should be replaced.

For complete details on this, listen to the AM Minnesota Broadcast from 10/29/14, with Dusty from the Faribault Fire Department.

Have a happy and safe Halloween and don't forget to "fall back" Saturday Night.
