One of the 2018 Research Updates sponsored by the University of Minnesota Extension Service will be this afternoon in Rochester at the Event Center. The Rochester Event Center is located off of Highway 63 by the airport. The program runs from 12:30 to 4:40 pm. On site registration begins at 11:30 and the cost is $60. The program presents "research based strategies to deal with today's changing pests, diseases, varieties, and nutrient and environmental recommendations."

The sessions and presenters include: Nitrogen, when, what and how to apply-Dr. Fabian Fernandez, Yearly patterns of crop diseases and management practices- Dr. Dean Malvick, Development in insect issues and management in corn and soybeans- Dr. Kenneth Ostlie and What do dicambia and Palmer amaranth have in common?-Dr. Jeff Gunsolus.

For Certified Crop Advisors continuing education units have been applied for: 1 in Nutrient Management and 3 in Pest management. With the weather as cold as it is attending this program is a good excuse not to be outside!
