A 39 year old Caledonia man died after rear ending a vehicle pulling two grain wagons. According to the Star Tribune and the State Patrol, the man was driving a Subaru Forester southbound on Hwy. 76 near milepost 25 in Monkey Creek Township in Houston County when he struck a van pulling angled hopper style wagons.

The the deceased driver of the Subaru was identified as Jaysen Gary Vaughn and was reportedly not wearing a seat belt. The van driver, Richard Daniel Torgeson, 56 of Houston, Minn., was not hurt. He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Harvesting is beginning in many areas. It's important to watch for slow moving tractors and farm support vehicles out on the rural roads. Too many people are killed on the roads at this time by going too fast and not paying attention.
